The Warhammer Online Website has word from Mythic Entertainment's Mark Jacobs on a change in plans for the upcoming version 1.0.5 patch for their MMORPG. After identifying some issues with the patch after placing it on their new Public Test Server, they are going to shift the Combat and Careers content to the version 1.0.6 patch that will follow. Now that the new Quantum Rise update is live for EVE Online, CCP's sci-fi MMORPG, Steam News has word that EVE Online: Quantum Rise is available on their service "for just $9.99 when new customers buy it on Steam before November 18th."
Closed Beta Update on the Battlefield Heroes Website has a status report on testing of Battlefield Heroes, DICE's upcoming subscription-free online shooter. The report talks about incorporating gameplay feedback from the testers, as well as the work being done on the back-end of the game, making the analogy of how much of an iceberg lies below water. The conclusion of senior producer James Salt's post indicates they are getting set for the next phase of testing, and so the closed beta will become a closed closed beta as they shut things down to work on the back end. They currently plan on reopening the beta "early next year."
Just a heads-up, the Xbox 360 and PC Multiplayer BETA's are coming to a close. Both BETA's are officially closing Monday morning, 11/10/08. You will not be able to log in on either the Xbox 360 or the PC starting Monday morning. This is in preparation for the retail release that will follow later that evening at midnight!

Warhammer Online Announces that in the coming days Mythic will offer free character transfers from lower population servers to those with higher populations. They have a list of source and destination servers in both North America and Oceana, saying players can move to any available destination server based on rule set. The program will also allow the transfer of guilds, warning they "encourage guild leaders to take their time when preparing to transfer their guild as it cannot be reversed."

GameStop will Be Selling COD: World at War a Day Early on PlanetXbox360 reports that GameStop may begin selling Call of Duty World at War on the evening of November 10, a day in advance of the game's official release date.
