https://division.zone/2016/05/26/201-gear-score-bracket-dz-mismatch-explained/#your-gear-score-is-crucial

Great link Zeek shared with me on the gear score explained

If you want to play in the lower darkzone level here is how you do it

making sure you stay in the 161+ -200 category:
Keep your overall score on max 199!!

- have max 182 weapons fitted, in your inventory or stash
-have  max 214 gear fitted, in your inventory or stash

I place all the 204 weapons and 240 gear in the 201+  character backpack

Hi Guys,
Mudd asked me to elaborate about getting into the DZ 161+ /200 as the message i sent mudd above, was a little short through the corner.

Anyway.. a How To get to the Darkzone (DZ) 161+ /200

WTH is the DZ 161+ /200:
Basically it is the old darkzone from before patch 1.2

To keep the game challenging they upgraded the DZ with level 33 & 34 NPC's and moved the old DZ into this sector.
The New DZ is known as 201+

How can you find what DZ you are placed in?
press M  to open your map en hover with your mouse over the DZ
In the top right of your screen it will show you what DZ bracket you are placed in.

So now that we know this. Why should a player want to downtune his/her toon for this level, or setup a new toon for playing this level?
Fun.. and some functionality..

PVE:
The DZ 161+/200 is easy to play and with good gearscores you can roam through DZ 6 on your own and be challenged
The drops from the crates are lower, but very well suited for that 161+ toon
The supply drops still give 240 Gear, randomly as they do in the 201+ bracket

PVP:
Because you dont have to worry too much about being slaughtered by NPC's you can really focus your attention to PVP
There are some great ways to test new builds here and with the OLD Sentry/striker gear, or test new gear that has a low gearscore.

To give you a little more insight on how i set my game up:
Primary Toon:       201+ DZ (fitted with 240 GEAR and High end 214 GEAR and 204 WEAPONS)
Secondary Toon:  161+ DZ (fitted with 182, 204 & 214 GEAR and 182 WEAPONS)
Tercary toon:        Specialist toon : currently working on a tactician build (but can also be sniper, Glass cannon, Tank or anything elese you want to try) (all gear- and weaponscores)
last toon :             undelevolped -(mostly use him for storage space for things i would like to Keep

STASH:                  Weapon-mods and Gear-mods (30-32)

This will allow me to keep everything organised without too much hassle
and it will be a bit of a hassle running multiple characters due to the limited space in your stash and backpacks and the ever growing options for gear.

HOW TO SET UP THE 161+ /200 TOON:

There are a few rules to it:
1. You cannot have any 240 GEAR fitted, in your backpack or in your stash ( so move these to another toon as well)

2. The gearscore that displays in the bottom of your inventory screen is not the true gearscore!
And here is where it gets tricky!

Your TRUE gearscore is the total Highest gearscore per category fitted, in your backpack or in your stash! and divided by 7 (according to Psycoticmsiley)
if this number is below 200 then you should be able to join the 161+ /200 DZ

The 7 categories:
1. Weapons (primary, secondary and sidearm)
2. Vests
3. Masks
4. Kneepads
5. Bags
6. Gloves
7. Holster

So if you have fitted a 182 vest, but have a 214 vest in your stash, it will count the 214 gearscore for the vest category!!!
This counts for all categories.

Do the math well and you will be able to enter this fun DZ and make use of the Supply drops, fun PVP & PVE gameplay and get them precious items for your other toons ; without going into the DZ 201+

One little side note:
I"m still experimenting with 191 named gearsets to see if i can work with a full striker /sentry gearset

Hope this works for you..

You are not alllowed to be FITTED with only named sets like 5 sentry or 5 striker, etc so you will have to use yellow ones as well. - you are however allowed to have them in your stash or backpack (non fitted)
You can experiment further to see how many sets in teal you can have active before it will bump you up to the DZ 201+ bracket.

Hope this works for you..

People keep asking me how the game is ill lay out the negatives for ya over all its fun to play with friends but here are the things that annoy me.  It is a constant grind for gear, started off with 2 different forms of currency now 3. Also has 3 different ranking systems you have to rank up in. The PVP is horrible, players in all levels that can not be killed running around killing everyone. If you get it for free I recommend the game if you have to pay for it know what your getting into. Each patch they nerf what you have been building up....
